Today, the Double D Foundation (DDF), a Georgia-based non-profit organization, announced 52 grants recipients for 2023 – totaling $179,280 dollars in support – for competitive shooting teams and organizations throughout South Carolina.
This is the first year DDF has awarded grants outside of Georgia. To date, the foundation has donated $1.5 million dollars worth of safety gear, targets, and ammunition to shooting organizations across the two states.
“We launched The Double D Foundation to safeguard the Second Amendment by growing participation in competitive shooting sports around the country,” said Double D Foundation Founder, Cindy Daniel. “Our first grants in South Carolina will benefit fifty-two teams and support over 2,700 student athletes in the Palmetto State. This expansion is a sign of continued success in advancing the mission of our organization.
“These young men and women are bold ambassadors for competitive shooting sports and represent the next generation of Second Amendment advocates. Congratulations to our South Carolina grant recipients and thank you to all Double D Foundation supporters and sponsors for funding our grant program.”
Grant recipients are youth, scholastic, and collegiate competitive shooting teams that participate in propellant ammunition-based rifle, shotgun, or pistol sports. The 2023 South Carolina grants include 8,200 pairs of ear protection, 1,056 pairs of eye protection, 970 flats of 12ga ammunition (242,500 rounds), 377 flats of 20ga ammunition (94,250 rounds), 491 cases of clay targets (66,285 clay targets), and 147 cases of .22LR rimfire ammunition (205,800 rounds).
